This morning I lost internet access for about an hour.
After checking the modem by turning it on and off, checking the cables and restarting the computer I realised it was probably the exchange offline (again). When I rang my ISP Westnet, they checked and noticed that about 10 other users in my area also went off.
The annoying thing is that because my ISP is not one of the biggies they had to have me check my modem, my computer, my everything before they could send an email off to their provider to advise that there was a problem because proof was needed that I didn’t have access. The fact that the lights were on the modem and I was using the phone to call Westnet is apparently not enough for the provider.
During the time that Westnet was very helpful, including offering me a free dial up service until it got fixed, someone else must have reported it to the provider and they flicked a switch and got it back online.
No internet, oh the horror. I survived but it was a close call.
A big yay for Westnet.

Sounds like crappy internet service provider imo, I would have called them gave them hell screamed for like 20 minutes, and got that month of internet paid free after exclaiming how they ruined all my stuff because it usually happens that when my net goes down it’s always at an important time.

It wasn’t my ISP, it was their service provider, but thanks for the advice
