This is not going to be a post about finding out where to go with your business, life or health.  It doesn’t have anything to do with that.  It’s all about directions….

Did you know about this cool feature that’s now part of your browser?

If you are trying to find out where to go, type the address into your browser address bar.  That’s the spot where you would type in maps.google.com, then when the site appears, type in the address and then see where to go.

Instead of doing all that, and after all, we are all saving time where we can, you can just type the address there.  It will return the search with the map for where you want to go.  I’ve checked it in Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer and they all work.

Coffs Harbour on the Pacific Highway

Chrome and Firefox returned a Google Search, whilst Internet Explorer returned a Bing Search but used Google images.

Safari couldn’t do it, so if you are a Safari user, this information isn’t for you.

You can still go to Google maps or whereis.com if you need how to get there instructions, but most of the time, I have a general idea where something is and just need to see where it is, rather then find how to get there.

If you do need directions to get there, then google maps and whereis.com are great resources.

Hope that helps next time you are trying to find where to go.
